In recent months we have seen a number of incidents where customers' systems have become infected by viruses. These viruses have caused serious damage.

In one case, removal of the virus caused a PC to become unusable and its recovery caused significantly cost to the client, in terms of time lost and support costs incurred.

In another case, an organisation's entire network of three servers and 15 workstations was bought down for two days. This caused serious loss of revenue and the incurring of substantial support costs.

In all instances, these organisations had reputable corporate anti-virus software products in place which failed, leaving them exposed and vulnerable.
